Antelope Canyon, Lake Powell, Horse-Shoe Bend- ARIZONA

Spending the night at Page is the best option to visit these places as all of them are a short driving distance from the village.

Antelope Canyon is one of the narrowest and most beautiful canyons in the world. There are two options to visit the canyon: the Upper and the Lower part. If you have enough time is worth to visit both. While the lower canyon is narrower and more adventurous as it is located underground and you have to descend steep stairs to reach the canyon, the upper is ground level but wider and bigger. You can only visit the canyon with a Navajo Guide in groups of around 10 to 15 people that leave every 30 minutes aprox.

What you can see inside these canyons cannot be explained with words. Warped walls carved out of the rocks with orange, red, pink and yellow tones depending on the light coming from outside. Best time to visit it´s from 11.30 pm to 1 pm to spot them with the best light.

Very close to Antelope Canyon is Lake Powell; a pretty big lake in the middle of nowhere, with very blue and clean water and funny-shape rocks. You have to pay a week toll to enter the road that surrounds the lake, but you get the best views from the top. This road leads you to the Whaweap Marina, which is full of small recreational boats. Once at the Marina, you have 3 options to drink or eat/ snack something at the Lake Powell Resort: Latitude 37 (a floating restaurant); Driftwood lounge (appetizers, snacks and cocktails) and the Rainbow Room.

Last to worth a visit around the area is Horseshoe Bend, which is a horseshoe-shape mender of the Colorado River. To reach the cliffs, there is an easy 1.5 miles hike and the entrance is free. Best time to visit is sunset because the colors turn more intense and you can see the sun hiding behind the mountains in front of you. Walk around the cliffs to see the horseshoe from different perspectives.
